Data Used to Rank Best Ohio Breweries
The data used come up with this list of top breweries came from Beer Advocate’s Top Rated Beers: Ohio.
Highest Ranked Beer Types
Apparently Ohioans really like their stouts. Of the beers rated in the top 100, 19 are classified as Russian Imperial Stouts and 17 are American Imperial Stouts. That translates to over one third of the highest rated beers being imperial stouts.
IPAs are popular, too, with 25 American Imperial IPAs on the list and 6 New England IPAs.
Other Observations
Ohioans seem to enjoy the higher ABV beers, with only 7 beers with a percentage under 7%.
I was surprised breweries like Wolf’s Ridge Brewingand Urban Artifact weren’t more prevalent on this list. Perhaps because they don’t concentrate on the stouts that seem so popular?
What are your thoughts on this list? Do you agree with the top 5 best Ohio breweries?
